TRADEMARK REGISTRATION PROCEDURE IN VIETNAM

Step 1: Filing the application

Step 2: Formality examination & Publication of the application

• Formality examination: within 1–2 months
• Publication: within 2 months from the acceptance of an application

Step 3: Substantive examination

• Takes place within approximately 9–12 months from the publication date.

Step 4: Grant or refusal of registration

• The IP Office of Vietnam will consider and issue a decision to grant or refuse trademark registration.

Step 5: Payment of fees & issuance of the Certificate

• If approved, the applicant pays the grant fee and receives the Trademark Registration Certificate within 1–2 months. The information will be officially published in the Industrial Property Gazette.
